Adventure Discovery Box April 2023

These were the beers from the Daring Discovery Box of April 2023:

1. Viven Champagne Weisse (Witbier, 4.8% ABV)

Viven Champagner Weissen was first launched during the 2018 holiday season as an answer to the standard dark, sweet and rather heavy end-of-year beers. This wheat beer is brewed with champagne yeast. This creates a spicy aftertaste and sparkling, but very fine carbonation.

2. Manneken Pils (Pils, 5,5% ABV)

Maize is used to brew this beer, resulting in a complex and smooth taste after the immediate attack at the first sip. The rather bitter taste also persists during the aftertaste, making this beer an excellent thirst quencher.

3. Papegaei (Blond, 8% ABV, 24 IBU)

Papegaei is a blond beer with an alcohol volume of 8%. The beer is light drinkable and has a rich bouquet of hop aromas. Papegaei is prepared with fresh hop cones, i.e. the hop cones are dried but have not been processed into extract or pellets and thus retain their natural shape (and taste!). The mash (malt) of Papegaei consists of barley malt, wheat malt and oats.
Papegaei is a top-fermented beer with refermentation in the bottle. The beer is not filtered and not pasteurized.

4. Palja's season (season, 6% ABV, 23 IBU)

Paljas Saison is a summer tasting beer of high fermentation and refermentation in the bottle. The typical Saison yeast converts all sugars, making this a very drinkable beer. The use of wheat and specially selected hops provides extra freshness. This beer is therefore hopped 3 times, including with Citra hops, which gives an extra fruity citrus touch to this delicious light blond beer.

5. Flying Pig (Strong Blonde, 9% ABV, 21 IBU)

Het Vliegend Varken is a top-fermented blond beer with refermentation in the bottle. The 9% alcohol and the dry hopping technique ensure that this beer is a real taste bomb. The beautiful white foam retains the aromas of this characterful beer so that you immediately notice that you are holding something special even before you have taken a sip. Perfect for the real beer lover.
