Deo is a porter that was originally released as a triptych, together with Optimo and Maximo. These three beers then form DOM., which is also the abbreviation of D'Oude Maalderij. Deo, Optimo, Maximo also stands for "the most powerful god". This triptych was designed and brewed as an explanation of black beer styles.

The labels of these were designed by three artists who were given the DOM. (as a cathedral) and alchemy (ancient brewing science) each expressed their own style in their creation.
